The existing platform could have been more visually appealing and needed more essential functionalities, hindering the academy's ability to communicate its mission and services effectively to various stakeholders.

The project was about redesigning a website and embracing a forward-thinking approach aligning with Boury's growth and aspirations.

Goal

The Boury Academy, always striving for excellence, recognised an opportunity to enhance its digital presence to serve its community better. With a vision for the future, the academy sought to create a centralised platform that seamlessly integrates various aspects of its operations and outreach.

My Responsibilities

My role as the Service Designer was not only about creating a new website but about reimagining the entire digital experience for Boury Academy. Through thoughtful design and focusing on user needs, I created a platform that would genuinely reflect Boury's commitment to excellence, innovation, and community engagement.
The Process

Discover: Understanding the Brand's Essence

In the Discover phase, the focus was engaging Boury Academy's stakeholders to explore the brand's core attributes and values. Through workshops and collaborative sessions, we understood the essence of Boury. The outcome was a shared understanding of the brand's identity and the challenges to be addressed. This foundational understanding set the stage for the rest of the process, ensuring that all subsequent decisions were rooted in a deep knowledge of Boury's unique identity and needs.

Define: Strategic Planning with Stakeholders

In the Define phase, we worked with Boury's staff to narrow down the insights from the Discover phase to create a plan. We factored in competitors and audience needs to craft a strategy that would fit with Boury's unique identity. Through this co-creation process, we built a shared vision for the transformation and established clear goals and direction for the development phase.

Develop: Collaborative Visual Identity Design & Building the Website

The Develop phase was where ideas were translated into tangible solutions. Working closely with Boury's team, we co-created the visual language that would resonate across various touchpoints. The website's design was a collaborative endeavour, with continuous engagement with Boury's staff in every step, from information architecture to wireframing and prototyping. This phase was marked by iterative design and constant refinement, ensuring that the platform was a user-centric reflection of Boury's identity while providing the best work processes for staff.

Deliver: Integrating Visual Assets & Touchpoints

The Deliver phase was the final step in our collaborative process, focusing on integrating visual assets and touchpoints. Working hand-in-hand with Boury's staff, we ensured that every visual element was aligned and cohesive across all platforms and channels. This phase was about finalizing the design and weaving together all the elements into a unified whole. Every touchpoint was carefully crafted and integrated, from website design to social media templates and email footers.

The creation of a service blueprint provided a clear roadmap for designing user journeys, making interactions easy for users and saving time for staff whenever they were needed. This foundational blueprint guided the development of various touchpoints, each contributing to a seamless and resonant user experience.

Social Media

New social media templates were created on Canva to ensure a consistent visual identity across platforms, enhancing brand recognition and engagement. By utilizing Canva, a user-friendly design platform, we facilitated the editing and publishing process for Boury's staff, empowering them to easily manage and update social media content.

Autonomous Emailing

An automated email system was developed to streamline communication, providing timely updates and information to users without manual intervention.

Booking System

We developed an easy-to-use booking system and integrated it with the website using Wix. This integration created a user-friendly platform for scheduling classes and rooms, making it convenient for users and enhancing their overall satisfaction. At the same time, the streamlined process simplified things for Boury's staff.

The collaborative approach to redesigning and digitalizing The Boury Academy's service offerings led to significant improvements and tangible outcomes.

The redesign resulted in a 3x increase in monthly site visits, reflecting a more engaging and appealing digital presence.

The integration of room management, booking, and marketing created a centralized platform that streamlined operations for the staff at The Boury Academy.

The creation of processes within the academy focused on facilitating the everyday tasks of staff, enhancing efficiency and productivity.
